Department of Defense Military Health System Selects HIPAA Accelerator for HIPAA Privacy Software Application
Chicago, IL. - June 30, 2003 - HIPAA Accelerator, Inc., the leading provider of HIPAA privacy solutions, announced today that its HIPAA privacy software has been selected for use by the Department of Defense Military Health System. Under the agreement, HIPAA Accelerator will provide HIPAA Fast Track to all 530 military treatment facilities within the Military Health System. The software will help the Military Health System to meet their responsibility to comply with the privacy provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Fast Track is the most comprehensive product available for the privacy provisions of HIPAA. The consulting firm of Booz Allen Hamilton managed an extensive software selection process for the Military Health System. Booz Allen is the primary contractor to the Military Health System for HIPAA privacy, and will also lead the integration process of HIPAA Fast Track.
Fast Track provides extensive process automation functionality for HIPAA privacy requirements such as an individual’s rights to health information access, amendment, and disclosure accounting. It also contains features for disclosure tracking, disclosure restrictions, authorization management, notice of privacy practices tracking, disclosure accounting suspensions, privacy complaint management, confidential communications, and HIPAA-related letter generation.
