Medical Records Accelerator (MRA) - Product Overview (v2.2)

Automation tools save money, and MRA is designed for that
purpose. MRA provides hospitals and provider-related organizations
with an automated system for medical records tracking, monitoring,
mapping, and correspondence management, across both geographically
dispersed locations and multiple health information systems.
This enables providers to easily fulfill records requests,
eliminate inaccuracies in patient records, shorten receivable
cycles, improve compliance, and enhance the delivery of patient
care.

- Request Tracking
For providers, the ability to effectively manage and track medical records requests is not only critical from a cost standpoint, but also from a legal perspective. MRA provides providers with a complete, tracking and management system for all types of medical records requests. The system includes employee friendly "request wizards" that insure a complete historical accounting of a request, and a complete dashboard for administrators to know the real time status of all request activities.
- Automated Task Routing
MRA uses a sophisticated task routing system to automate many of the procedures associated with medical records management. In the case of medical records requests, MRA can electronically "route" the requests to provider employees or groups of employees, even at different physical locations. This helps to reduce a provider’s operating costs by replacing traditionally manual procedures with automation.
- Correspondence Management
The ability to automatically generate correspondence in a variety of situations is a critical cost saving factor for providers. MRA can automate the creation of any type of correspondence to patients, payers, etc. The system comes pre-configured with over 50 letters templates that can be easily customized and used. Upon implementation, any patient-specific letter can be generated in less then a second.
- Medical Records Inventory Management
For most providers, it is common to store patient medical records in a variety of sources and locations: HIM systems, file rooms, off-site long-term storage, etc. MRA brings order to this chaos by providing a comprehensive system for mapping the details of these medical record "repositories". These mappings are used by MRA to automate the retrieval of medical records. They also help medical records personnel to operate in a more cost-effective manner, and to insure compliance with certain portions of HIPAA.
- Receivables and Invoice Management
In a time where reimbursement is challenging, the ability to reduce revenue cycles is important. MRA does this by providing a complete invoice generation and tracking system. This invoicing system can be used to generate customized invoices, payment letters, and other related correspondence, as well to track and report on payments over time.
- HIPAA Privacy Features
Since the HIPAA privacy regulations are forever linked to health information disclosures, MRA contains all the HIPAA privacy features from HIPAA Privacy Accelerator application. These features include:
- Complete disclosure management, including disclosure recording, disclosure approval workflow, disclosure file import, disclosure restrictions, disclosure accounting, disclosure accounting suspension, and disclosure restrictions.
- Complete PHI access and amendment tracking and management.
- Complete authorization management, including the ability to physically generate and track customized authorizations.
- Complete notice of privacy practices management, including the ability to distribute, track, and store acknowledged, or non-acknowledged NPPs.
- Complete confidential communications management including alternative address and communication method.
- Complete privacy complaint tracking and management.

- Browser-Based Access
MRA is a "thin-client", browser-based application that deploys easily on an intranet, or over the Internet. As such, there is no need to load or maintain any software on a user workstation (other then a browser), so deployment, use, and upgrades are easy.
